Episode 47 from Season 2 titled: Which Is The Best Translation Of The Bible
In this episode, we explore which is the best Bible for you to be reading. There are so many different versions which is the 'best'.
We talk about some translations being 'word for word' translations, some being 'thought for thought' and some being poetical paraphrase. We also look at some examples of where translators have a bias in their rendering of the text. A little nerdy in places but super important to understand which Bible for you.

Cris, I wondered what you thought of the NETbible (https://netbible.org/). The translators claim that it has significantly more translation notes than other translations and looking at the verses you cite it seems to me it does a reasonable job of explaining the original Greek. Plus you can bring up the Greek and hover over each word showing the meaning and the corresponding word in the translated text. It strikes me as a good resource for study

Really helpful + interesting. Could you expand on how/why you translated your leader word? Sorry if I missed it! Have you read Paula Gooder's book Phoebe? Very good. 🙂
